    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts. Turnover comprises of admissions, receipts and other associated income in relations to the Cornwall Folk Festival and other connected events.

Company activities and impact

During the financial year, Cornwall Folk Festival CIC delivered its annual multi-day event in Wadebridge, celebrating Cornish folk music, culture, and community engagement. The festival took place from 22–26 August 2024 and included: > Over 50 live performances across multiple venues, featuring Cornish, regional, and national folk artists. > Youth engagement initiatives, including performances by emerging artists and family-friendly workshops. > Community partnerships with Wadebridge Town Council, local businesses, and cultural organisations. > Economic uplift for local hospitality and retail sectors during the August Bank Holiday weekend. > Cultural preservation, including tributes to Cornish folk legends and promotion of regional storytelling. The festival theme, “Love is the weapon of choice,” guided programming and communications, fostering a sense of unity and resilience.
