The directors present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 30 November 2024.

The London Hellenic Prize was established as an international award committed to the promotion of Anglo-Hellenic cultural exchange. Since its inception in 1996, it has been administered by the London Hellenic Society, chaired at the time by John A. Hadjipateras OBE. The Society's vice-chairman John D. Criticos generously sponsored the prize for several years while Michael Moschos, executive vice-chairman, undertook its management. Keith Allen has joined Michael as a director of the London Hellenic Co. Ltd. with its establishment in 2017.

The London Hellenic Society remained closely associated with international shipping based in the City of London since the 1950's. The Greek Shipping Cooperation Committee, active in the Baltic Exchange, still represents the largest ocean-trading cargo fleet in the world although many Greek shipping companies have in recent years moved operations to their home country. 

In 2017 the London Hellenic Prize was registered in the U.K. as an independent non-profit company with charitable educational objectives. As such, it has continued to recognize and reward original works in the English language inspired by Hellenic civilization (ancient, classical, Hellenistic, Byzantine or modern). Areas of interest are not restricted, and the Committee's general criteria have always been excellence, originality and appeal to the general reader. The prize has been awarded to date to works on archaeology, architecture, art, classics, history, novels, literary criticism, plays, poetry, science, social studies, as well as to works of fiction inspired by Greek mythology, classical literature or history.

Submissions each year meet the deadline of 31st January (or early February) of the year following the date of publication and arrive from publishers and authors worldwide. The LHP Committee adjudicates from February to June and co-opts readers and specialists in all required fields. The London Hellenic Prize is a truly international award in scope and substance. Its value has remained unchanged since inception at 10,000 pounds.

The London Hellenic Prize is a private company limited by guarantee incorporated in England and Wales. The registered office is 27 Mortimer Street, London, W1T 3BL.

For the year ended 30 November 2024 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of financial statements.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the year in question in accordance with section 476.

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the micro-entity provisions and in accordance with FRS 105 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable to the Micro-entities Regime' and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.
