Amplified Voices CIC exists to empower individuals and improve mental health and wellbeing through the transformative power of singing and music. In the year ending 31 October 2024, we engaged 245 individuals across Greater Manchester and Liverpool through inclusive and culturally rooted creative programmes. Programme Highlights: - Joyful Noise (Black Women’s Singing Circle) A vocal and wellbeing programme designed for Black women, providing space for creative expression, healing, and empowerment through singing. Participants reported increased confidence, reduced isolation, and a deepened sense of sisterhood and self-worth. - Neurodiverse Youth Choir In partnership with the ADHD Foundation in Liverpool, we led a pioneering neurodiversity-friendly choir for young people. This project fostered self-expression, belonging, and musical confidence. Highlight: The choir performed at the prestigious National Diversity Awards at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral, showcasing their talents to a national audience of over 600 guests. This performance was a significant milestone for both the young singers and Amplified Voices, exemplifying our commitment to inclusive excellence. - Levenshulme Youth Project A series of interactive songwriting and performance workshops for local young people. Sessions supported personal development, communication skills, and emotional well-being through creative exploration. - Senior Singing Sessions Delivered in Ardwick Village and Newlands Care Home, these sessions supported older adults, including those living with dementia and long-term illness. Singing was used as a tool for connection, memory activation, and joy. - The Gospel Choir Experience Our culminating project of the year was a vibrant and intergenerational Gospel Choir Experience, bringing together over 100 voices in celebration of culture, faith, and unity. Supported by a live band and enriched with stories of hope, the event left a lasting impression on both participants and audience members. Supporting Local Creative Talent: Throughout the year, we actively engaged local creatives in community recording projects, live performances and production roles. By providing paid opportunities for emerging and established Greater Manchester-based artists, we strengthened the local creative economy while enhancing the cultural richness of our events. Measurable Impact: Across our programmes, participants reported: - Improved mental well-being and emotional resilience - Increased confidence and self-expression - Stronger sense of community and social connectedness Our work continues to bridge arts, health, culture, and community – building a more inclusive and empowered society, one voice at a time.
We actively consult with a broad range of stakeholders, including: - Programme participants (adults, youth, and seniors) - Parents, carers, and guardians - Youth and community leaders - Partner organisations (e.g., ADHD Foundation, Levenshulme Youth Project) - Care staff, social prescribers, and local artists Stakeholder feedback was collected through: - Post-session feedback forms - Verbal reflections and interviews - Social media engagement and digital surveys - Ongoing dialogue with delivery partners This insight shaped decisions around programme content, delivery style, accessibility, and event structure.
