The financial statements have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

In accordance with Section 444 of the Companies Act 2006, the Income Statement has not been delivered.

1.	STATUTORY INFORMATION

Cardiff Metropolitan University Football Club Limited is a private company, limited by shares , registered in England and Wales. The company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page.

2.	ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

The company has net current liabilities at 31 December 2024 and is dependent on the financial support of its ultimate parent, Cardiff Metropolitan University. The University has confirmed its willingness to provide this support for at least 12 months from the date of signing the financial statements. As a result, the directors believe it appropriate to prepare the financial statements on a going concern basis.

Cardiff Metropolitan University has a clear understanding of the strategy and business plan of Cardiff Met Sport and the Clubs, including the Clubs' projected funding requirements for at least the next 12 months. This position is justified through the contribution of sport to the university through several key strategic priorities. One of these is student recruitment, which has a significant associated income but is retained centrally with the university.

Turnover

Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value added tax and other sales taxes.

Membership income

Membership income is for the academic year August to July and is recognised equally over this period.

Match day income

Match day income is recognised over the period of the football season as games are played.

Sponsorship income

Sponsorship is recognised over the duration of the respective contract.

Grants, awards, and bonuses

Grants, awards, and bonuses are recognised where there is entitlement and certainty and they can be measured with reasonable accuracy

Cardiff Met University Football Club Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cardiff Met Company Ltd, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Cardiff Metropolitan University, is a body incorporated as a result of the Education (Higher Education Corporations) (Wales) Order 1991. Copies of the parent's consolidated financial statements may be obtained from The Secretary, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Central Management, Llandaff Campus, Western Avenue, Cardiff, CF5 2YB. That is the largest and smallest group in which the results of the company are consolidated
