Basis of preparing the financial statements
Revenue recognition
| Turnover represents amounts receivable for services. Amounts receivable for services performed over time are based upon the stage of completion of the services performed. |
Intangible assets
| The intangible assets represents development costs that have been incurred by the company with the aim of producing a commercial benefit. Amortisation will be provided at rates calculated to write off the cost of the asset, less its estimated residual value, over the expected useful life of the asset and will be incurred as soon as the project becomes commercially viable and starts to produce an income flow. |
Property, plant and equipment
| Tangible fixed assets, other than freehold land, are stated at cost or valuation less depreciation and any provision for impairment. Depreciation is provided at rates calculated to write off the cost or valuation of fixed assets, less their estimated residual value, over their expected useful lives on the following basis: |

Foreign currencies
| Assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate at the date of transaction. Exchange rate differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating result. |
Hire purchase and leasing commitments
Rentals payable under operating leases are charged against income on a straight line basis over the lease term.
