Movement In Worship aims to raise the profile of creativity in worship and mission in the UK and internationally. In particular, the company’s activities are carried out for the benefit of those who desire to use movement as part of their worship but also for the wider community. In 2024 our activities included: Selection of short and 1-day creative worship workshops adapted to be delivered online via Zoom serving our UK and international Bases and many others from across the UK and other nations. Provision of affordable high quality courses for many participants across the UK and beyond. In-person workshops also delivered in Austria, Berlin, India, Lithuania, Sri-Lanka and around the UK. As a result of Training the Trainers courses we have 30 licensed teachers who can teach our core courses benefitting the UK and beyond. One week long Essence Summer School in West Sussex UK – gathered 30 international students 5 days training in movement, rhythm and spiritual outreach and then took what had been taught outside to serve the local community. Mentoring: one of our directors is running 2 online mentoring courses, the sessions are biweekly throughout 3 terms. It has proved to be very beneficial for attendees from around the world. Wellness Retreats: Our “Wellness” arm focuses on holistic wellbeing. We ran two weekend retreats and a retreat event for over 35 people. Online Base: Our online English-speaking Base continues, helping to connect people from a wider range of locations, including Australia, Brazil, Germany, Kazakhstan, Singapore, USA, etc. Tribe Weekend UK: Over 80 gathering in Sussex UK for a weekend of building community, exploring creativity and spiritually together. Hungary Stadium Event: A team of 15 MIW danced at a large event with thousands attending. Our dance team was a partnership between UK and Slovakia. Community outreach and prayer trips to France, Jersey and around the UK with drumming and dancing teams.
MIW Board – 7 Board members (including 2 Directors) are consulted in two meetings annually. The Board provides governance and strategic input into MIW. MIW Wider Leadership Team – 50 Team members are consulted in an annual meeting, their input influences the location, timing and type of courses and events that we run. MIW Collective Membership – 200 members are consulted in bi-annual gatherings (one online and one in-person) and received quarterly updates via email, their input influences the location, timing and type of courses and events that we run. In this year we met in a hybrid format with both in–person and online options. MIW Clients – over 1000 – We receive verbal and written feedback forms from course and event attendees and this feedback is taken into consideration in the formation of future courses and events.
