Between 15 December 2023 and 31 December 2024, the company hosted 14 free and fully accessible inter-generational events across South London. These activities were designed to provide welcoming community spaces during the colder months and to help reduce loneliness among both younger and older adults. The events supported young professionals, many of whom face instability due to the local rental market, by offering opportunities to build roots in their community and connect with longstanding residents. At the same time, they helped older local residents combat social isolation by fostering meaningful relationships with younger generations. This inter-generational approach has contributed to bridging divides, strengthening community ties, and promoting mutual understanding. All events were delivered in partnership with local businesses, ensuring that the project not only supported individuals but also contributed to the local economy and cultural life of South London.
Our primary stakeholders are members of the local community who attend our events, as well as the local businesses that host them. We regularly hold feedback sessions with community participants to understand the types of events they would like us to deliver, to gather their views on the current programme, and to identify any improvements we could make. This feedback has been used to shape our activities to ensure they remain relevant, accessible, and responsive to community needs. We also liaise regularly with the local businesses we use as venues, maintaining an open dialogue to ensure that our partnership is mutually beneficial and sustainable over the long term.
