For the financial year ended 30 June 2025 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the year in question in accordance with section 476.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of financial statements.

These financial statements have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors of the company have elected not to include a copy of the income and expenditure account within the financial statements.true

Bolton Wanderers Development Association (Chorley) Ltd is a private company limited by guarantee incorporated in England and Wales. The registered office is Toughsheet Community Stadium, Burnden Way, Lostock, Bolton, Lancashire, BL6 6JW.

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with FRS 102 “The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland” (“FRS 102”) and the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 as applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime. The disclosure requirements of section 1A of FRS 102 have been applied other than where additional disclosure is required to show a true and fair view.

The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the company. Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting policies adopted are set out below.

Income is derived from registered lottery activities which were attributable to the year. Income for lotteries expiring in the following year is carried forward as deferred income.

Leasing

Rentals payable under operating leases are charged to the Statement of Income and Retained Earnings on a straight line basis over the period of the lease.

Donations to beneficiaries

The company's net income for the year is donated to Bolton Wanderers Football Club and to bodies operating third party lotteries. Donations to third party lotteries is solely dependent and calculated on their own paying members and revenues within the Bolton Wanderers Development Association lotteries.

The company is limited by guarantee, not having a share capital and consequently the liability of members is limited, subject to an undertaking by each member to contribute to the net assets or liabilities of the company on winding up such amounts as may be required not exceeding £1.

Other creditors includes £94,742 (2024: £82,081) due to Bolton Wanderers Football & Athletic Company Limited.

Other creditors also includes a trade creditor of £14,904 (2024 - £22,430) in respect of Bolton Wanderers Football & Athletic Company Limited.

During the year the company made repayments of £118,989 (2024: £235,089) to Bolton Wanderers Football & Athletic Company Limited. These were used by the club as contributions towards the cost of projects carried out by the club.

The liability of the members is limited by guarantee.

Every member of the association undertakes to contribute to the assets of the association, in the event of the same being wound up while he is a member, or within one year after he ceases to be a member, for payment of the debts and liabilities of the association contracted before he ceases to be a member, and of the costs, charges and expenses of winding up, and for the adjustment of the rights of the contributors among themselves, such amount as may be required not exceeding £1.

If upon winding up or dissolution of the association there remains after the satisfaction of all its debts and liabilities, any property whatsoever the same shall not be paid to or distributed among the members of the association, but shall be given or transferred to or otherwise applied for the benefit of the Bolton Wanderers Football Club and if and so far as effect cannot be given to such provision, then to some charitable object.
