The Herbal Alliance CIC was established to benefit the community of herbal medicine practitioners in the UK and elsewhere, as represented by their professional associations, adding value to the work of these associations by providing opportunities for collaboration and cooperation between them and their memberships. The vast majority of activities are conducted by volunteers from these professional associations without separate charge to the Alliance. In the financial year concerned the Alliance commissioned a consultant to develop a common case-reporting system for practitioners to generate real-world clinical data and evidence on the use of herbal medicine in practice; commissioned the same consultant further to engage with professional association moves to common educational accreditations of training programmes; explored potential insurance policies that could be made available to patients of herbal practitioner; continued online continuing professional development seminars and webinars; published its ‘Herbal Eye’ journal; maintained the membership website.
