This CIC company prepares and distributes hot meals to homeless and needy. The volunteers collect from local supermarkets their surplus groceries, fruits and other food materials. These are then utilised to cook hot meals on Saturday mornings. - hot meals are delivered to hubs of homeless centres in Nottingham - company also runs a FoodBank on Saturday mornings. It provides groceries, fruits, breakfast materials and other essential items. Around 40 or more families helped at the FoodBank. - many families are referred to the company by local councillors. - remaining surplus food and materials are passed on to local church and other faiths charities. - company also runs free Yoga classes on Saturday mornings. 20-25 adults are provided training in these classes. - the company has 20-25 volunteers who help in kitchen and FoodBank. - these activities are run from Radford Academy l, Nottingham premises
The company regularly consults individuals who visit and use FoodBank. Also consults organisations who run homeless centres and receive their feedback. This is so that we can make improvements in providing healthy and nutritious hot meals. Visitors to Food Bank complete a short questionnaire on what their needs are. We also keep a suggestion box for any further feedback The company has a Facebook page where our visitors/users can leave feedback.
