This past year has seen us deliver: 4 baby’s and children’s clothes swaps, 27 playgroup sessions, 12 antenatal reusable nappy advice sessions 1 Sustainable Christmas event 6 community events with partnering organisations Across these projects, we engaged with 806 participants and diverted approximately 12.8 tonnes of waste from disposal. Our volunteers gave 1820 hours to our community, enabling us to engage our community of families in sustainability. A couple of quotes from participants: [In response to their child at a clothes swap] “Yes! This was Lila’s cardigan, and now it’s your turn to wear it!” “I’ve been wanting to try cloth nappies, now I’m going to give it a go!” - mum picking up one of our reusable nappy kits at a clothes swap. This year we also moved into a bigger space that allowed us to open a toy library- something that had been requested many times by parents at our events.
We carry out consultation with our stakeholders at their point of engagement e.g upon return of a hire, or at playgroup, or at our clothes swaps. We also periodically ask for feedback a couple of times a year via our social media. As a result of consultation: we tried a different setting with our play group, and we are considering ways of making the clothes swaps accessible throughout the year, not just at set times. We also re-launched our Nappuccino sessions so families could come and see the nappy kits in person and ask questions. The launch of our toy library was in response to feedback from our stakeholders.
