Bayit Home incorporated on 12th October 2023, but started trading on 26th February 2024, and as a result our first reporting period is a short one. Through the period Bayit played a vital role in supporting individuals and families in Stockton-on-Tees through the provision of quality housing and intensive housing management services. With an initial 28 units of accommodation, Bayit was able to offer stable accommodation to people who were at risk of homelessness or struggling to maintain a tenancy due to challenging circumstances. The benefits to the wider community were significant. By providing stable housing and Bayit Home helped reduce pressure on emergency services, such as temporary accommodation providers, hospitals, and social care teams. Tenants who might otherwise have been in crisis were instead given the tools to maintain stability and make positive changes in their lives. In turn, this reduced anti-social behaviour and neighbourhood disruption, creating a safer and more cohesive environment. In addition to the direct housing and support provided, Bayit Home contributed to the local economy. By operating in Stockton-on-Tees, the organisation created employment and training opportunities for staff and invested in local suppliers and services. The maintenance and management of the 28 properties supported local contractors and tradespeople, ensuring that the homes remained safe, well-maintained, and sustainable. In summary, during the period from February 24 to April 2024, Bayit Home delivered a meaningful and measurable impact in Stockton-on-Tees. Through its combination of safe housing and intensive housing management, the organisation not only improved the lives of tenants but also strengthened the wider community. By preventing homelessness, supporting vulnerable people, and fostering neighbourhood stability, Bayit Home demonstrated the vital role that community-led housing initiatives play in building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.
