In 2024, Awaken Genius implemented a six-month after-school intervention and a four-week summer programme, both designed to enhance academic achievement, foster creativity, and support the personal development of young people. These interventions have led to the establishment of a formal partnership with a local school, where the headteacher has emerged as a key advocate for our work, engaging with the Children and Families Councillor as well as a local Member of Parliament to highlight the importance of our initiatives. To extend our reach and strengthen delivery, we have recruited additional educators and creative arts facilitators, and we have established a Community Voice Board, comprising both parents and young people, to ensure our programmes remain responsive to community priorities. Alongside these initiatives, we delivered another Building Community Families Wellbeing Retreat and launched a monthly online service for parents, providing families with the tools to manage stress, build resilience, and foster emotional wellbeing. Through these efforts, Awaken Genius continues to create a community-based culture of self-care and therapeutic support within education, ensuring that children and parents are empowered to thrive together.
