INOURAREA CIC

Directors' report period ended 31 December 2024

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 December 2024

Principal activities of the company

The origins of InOurArea CIC lie in the creation of the Emsworth Heritage Trail, which was first established under the auspices of the Emsworth Community Association. As the concept grew and neighbouring parishes expressed interest in developing their own trails, it became clear that a wider structure was needed. A project spanning multiple villages did not sit naturally within the remit of the Emsworth Community Association. InOurArea CIC was therefore incorporated in December 2023 as a dedicated body to host and coordinate cross-community initiatives across the area between Chichester and Havant. Its remit includes: Supporting and maintaining the Heritage Trails as a means of celebrating local history and heritage. Acting as an umbrella for initiatives of wider community value that extend beyond the scope of individual village organisations. Developing projects such as the proposed PG Wodehouse statue in Emsworth, to recognise and celebrate cultural contributions.

Company activities and impact

Between December 2023 and December 2024 the CIC: Heritage Trails – Oversaw the completion of Phase One of the multi-village Heritage Trails project, including digital QR-based interpretation and signage to engage residents and visitors. PG Wodehouse statue – Developed funding plans, engaged with the PG Wodehouse Society/Supporters Association, and advanced overall plans for the project.
