The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 30 September 2024

Principal activities of the company

The company represents occupational health nurses at a national level and pro-vides them with access to up-to-date information on evidence-based practice, pro-fessional development and leadership. The Faculty of Occupational Health Nursing (FOHN) opened in October 2018. During the financial year 2023-2024, FOHN’s ac-tivities have benefitted the workplace health and wellbeing community in the follow-ing ways: * OH nurses, the wider OH team and their customers have been kept up to date about what is happening in workplace health and wellbeing to support the requirement for evidence based good practice, with good engagement and feedback, through; * the website – updated on a regular basis * newsletter – sent out quarterly with updates on FOHN activity, health leadership, health risk management, fitness for work and wellbeing, As well as continual professional development events. First in a series of editorials on the wider OH team to support holistic heathcare * bulletins – latest research, events and consultations * social media – posting on average 3 times a week on LinkedIn and Facebook * a series of webinars, in conjunction with the Health and Safety Execu-tive on managing and monitoring health in the workplace * Supporting OH nurses to understand and prepare for accreditation. Online workshops were developed and run in consultation with OH nurses. * Development of a survey, in conjunction with the British Occupational Hy-giene Society, on the need for training in health risk management. * Promoting engagement with planned and published research through a se-ries of webinars from the London Centre for Workplace Health and the Na-tional Institute of Health Research. * Attendance at professional conferences to represent OH nurses on panel discussions about multi professional working and presenting sessions on FOHN accreditation.

Additional information

Consultation with Stakeholders The Faculty of Occupational Health Nursing has consulted with a wide range of stakeholders, including: * DWP and DHSC Joint Work and Health Directorate – provided input into the Occupational Health: Working Better consultation and the Work Capability Assess-ment consultation and the Annual Statement. Invited to be part of an Expert Adviso-ry Group developing a National OH Framework. * Faculty of Occupational Medicine – promoting the new SEQOHS quality Standards and Evidence Guide. * Nursing and Midwifery Council – consulting on the NMC planned regulatory reform and advanced nurse practice. * Society of Occupational Medicine and National School of Occupational Health (NSOH) mentoring programme and OH Awareness week content develop-ment. Launched a Joint Statement with the NSOH on OH Nurse Qualification and Titles to clarify this complex issue to all commissioners of OH nursing services. * Council for Work & Health providing input the National Work and Health Strategic agenda and the mental health subgroup.
