Company activities and impact

The company runs creative community programmes at various places in Huddersfield. Cur-rently, the company uses free space given as a part of the Kirklees Council’s creative econ-omy plan, These spaces, Dai Hall and Sho Hall have particular emphasis on supporting lo-cal and national artists, musicians and composers to perform and exhibit their works. During the financial year 2023- 2024, the company’s activities have benefited the community in the following ways: - supporting established artists as well as young practitioners who are willing to work in the music and art sector - providing workshops and education programmes to enhance knowledge and skill on music and art creation. - helping those who are engaged / are willing to be engaged in the music and art education - developing the cultural offer available to the rural communities - enhancing local creative communities

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are residents of and visitors to Huddersfield, and freelance art-ists and musicians commissioned to create art works by the company. The main director of the company has lived in Huddersfield for a number of years and developed the business model for the creative business sector based on her experience as a working artist. Visitors who use our facilities are encouraged to fill in a short questionnaire about their experience. This has helped us to understand how to reach more diverse audiences and what we can do to support them more effectively. We also ask commissioned freelance artists to give feedback after a completion of their works some of which have turned into video archives disseminated on the company’s website. We also use social media to engage with the current and future audiences.
