In the last financial year, Social Equity Centre received the second payment from the 3-year grant from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation secured in 2024 and a small grant from a partnership project with CREME of Aston University in Birmingham. The work in this last year included: - Completing and launching the first research report into migrant representation in Local Government - Accrediting the Local Government Training Programme with Skills and Education Group & BIIAB. - Presenting the research findings at various events and forums - Launching the Migrant Inclusive Local Government pledge These outcomes are aligned with the organisation’s mission for a more migrant inclusive local government.
Our stakeholders include first-generation migrants, public sector organisations, third sector partners, academia, and researchers. To date, we have held meetings and discussions to gather feedback on our mission and impact. Local government representatives also attended our research report launch, sharing their reflections on both the findings and the recommendations we presented to them and other stakeholders. Our Equity Advisory Board continues to provide valuable guidance, and we consult regularly with wider stakeholders through surveys, for example, our recent research survey, which received 75 responses from migrants across the UK. We also embed feedback into our training sessions, using detailed evaluation forms that allow participants to comment on course content, delivery, and future needs
No remuneration was received
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
