The company operates a community centre catering primarily to Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Groups (BAME), which includes a cafe, tailoring workshop, and community hall. The community centre is a central meeting point for us to help and educate our members about pressing social needs. When necessary, we refer them to relevant organizations for further support.
Our company has two main groups of stakeholders: registered members and associated members. Registered members are those who pay a registry fee and are bound by our rules and regulations. They also form the pool of our volunteers who help in the day-to-day activities of the company. On the other hand, associated members are individuals who use our services but are not registered members. This group makes up the majority of our service users. Our company's directors are the brainchild of our organization, and they form part of the nucleus of our community. Having lived in our Community for many years, they possess extensive knowledge regarding the needs of our community, which led to the establishment of the company. At our community centre, we ask all visitors to complete a short questionnaire to understand their reasons for visiting. We also regularly conduct focus groups to consult with members on issues we want to implement and gather their opinions on such matters. Additionally, we engage with our members through our social media sites and groups to seek their feedback and suggestions. We collected valuable information from our research that helped us understand the needs of our service users. Based on this information, we have decided to establish a youth hub, which is currently in the planning stage. Crime and antisocial behaviors have become a significant concern for our service users, and it is the reason for most of their visits to our centre. Our consultations revealed that there is a strong desire among our members to have a dedicated youth hub to help with the rising crime issue.
