The company's activities are to benefit persons aged 40 and over who are interested in running, located nationwide in the UK and are of all running abilities and experience. During the year to 31 October 2024, several events have been organised for the community members including: - Regional meet ups. - Annual award ceremony, which was live streamed to the community, recognising achievement and celebrating success. - Organising virtual runs with medals for all, these include specific charities linked to a member and their chosen charity, raising over £2,000. - The Michael Jobson Charity 5k for Orchid. - The Louise Bernadette Butcher 5k for Breast Cancer Now. - The Running at 40 Plus Annual Community 10k Race, the surplus from this race is to help support the ongoing work of Running at 40 Plus as a CIC. The online community, primarily on Facebook and Instagram, continues to be a very active, supportive and inspiring network of runners. The community has grown significantly over the last year with over 20,000 members in the running community on Facebook and 180,000 on the main Facebook page, and 150,000 on Instagram. Many of our members have created strong friendships and lifelong friends. Our members are there to cheer others on when they are finding things hard, are injured or are training for a big race. Our ambassador epitomises the ethos of Running at 40 Plus. She shares her monthly running tips in our newsletter and hosts and co-presents our awards ceremony each year. In 2023/24 "Run with Jo", a runners' podcast was launched with Jo Pavey chatting to members of our community with inspiring stories and with runners including Gemma Steel, Skid Row Marathon and The Topless Runner.
Feedback is always welcome, and we use our social channels actively to get feedback, thoughts and suggestions. Camaraderie within the group continues to build as we share inspiring stories, celebrate runners of all abilities with Medal Monday and Runner of the Month. Further consultation is conducted at our events and on our stand at the National Running Show.
