During the year, East Preston Community Energy CIC has worked to promote and develop community energy across the parishes of East Preston, Angmering, and Rustington. The company has: - Successfully bid for and won funding from the Community Energy Fund. - Held three public events raising awareness of community energy opportunities in the three local parishes. - Built a database of 65 households interested in having solar PV and battery storage installed in their homes. - Participated in the development of a community energy services company business model in collaboration with Power Circle and other partners. - Worked with West Sussex County Council in shaping the community energy services model. Unfortunately, anticipated funding for the next phase of work was not secured. As a result, the Board has taken the decision to place further activity on hold and to dissolve East Preston Community Energy CIC as a going concern. Despite this outcome, the company has raised awareness, engaged local communities
We have actively engaged with: - Residents across East Preston, Angmering, and Rustington parishes. - Parish councils and community groups. - West Sussex County Council. - Partners including Power Circle and other community energy stakeholders. This engagement has been central to developing the community energy services model and building local interest in future community energy initiatives.
