The Feminist Health CIC places particular emphasis on raising women’s health knowledge and addressing health inequalities. The company activities have benefitted the community in the following ways: -3 online webinars with health professionals (General Practitioner, Oncologist and Dentist) dedicate to the specific topic of women health, oral health during pregnancy and cancer screening of interest of women -1 in person event with consultant in gynaecology dedicate to cancer screening, fertility and menstrual health -Organization of the first Italian Summit of Black and Africa Diaspora of Health Professional with the aim to provide a space of reflection and collaboration to address health inequalities faced by Black and African communities in Italy, with focus on women, children and young people and mental health -Stakeholder participation to development of the Italian anti-racism manifesto presented to the Italian Senate. The company contributed in defining recommendation on addressing racism in the healthcare also with an intersectional perspective -Monthly newsletter about the company activity
The company’s stakeholders are residents both in the UK, Italy and Africa and include health professionals, local authorities, voluntary sectors, universities and other partners. The director has lived in Italy and UK, has an African background that has helped to develop networking collaborations to support the company’s work. We held a consultation during the summit, of which 80 participants participated between students and clinician. The survey evaluation was completed by 18 respondents providing the results below: - 100% were satisfied, with 725 very satisfied - 89% rated the event as well organized - Speakers: 50% excellent, 44% good, 6% satisfactory - 83% found content directly relevant to interests - 72% reported sufficient network opportunities - 94% would attend a future edition Amongst the qualitative themes of open-text feedback, stakeholders highlighted the event as “powerful”, “inspiring” and “necessary”.
