Principal activities of the company

Community Suppers Burntisland This initiative brought people together through food and conversation, fostering connection and reducing social isolation. The meals were served during the colder months. from clock change to clock change. providing a warm, welcoming space when it was needed most. Over the course of 21 weeks, volunteers prepared and served more than 400 meals to residents of all ages. As part of this project, we also provided training opportunities for our volunteers, helping them build skills and confidence while contributing to the community. We are especially proud to have young volunteers actively involved, gaining valuable experience and playing a vital role in making the suppers a success. The suppers became a hub not only for nourishment, but also for shared ideas and meaningful community-building. Biodiversity Group The group led several environmental efforts, including wildflower planting, habitat preservation, and public awareness campaigns. Working closely with local residents and partners, the Biodiversity Group helped increase understanding of local ecosystems and inspired action to care for our shared natural spaces. Big Green Market The Big Green Market has always been about finding sustainable ways to connect and improve our local community. and to make a positive impact on the wider world. Initially supported by BCDT, the market has grown into a vibrant and well-attended event. In 2024, it gained the strength and structure to become a standalone initiative, now operating independently.

Additional information

Board Changes This year brought significant changes to our Board of Trustees. Six board members stepped down, many of whom had served the Trust since its early days. We thank them for their dedication, insight, and years of service. Their contributions laid the groundwork for much of the Trust’s work today. We also welcomed new board members, bringing fresh perspectives and renewed energy. Their involvement marks the beginning of a new chapter for BCDT as we continue to grow and adapt to meet the community’s evolving needs. We are grateful to our volunteers, funders, and local partners for their continued support. BCDT remains committed to working alongside the people of Burntisland to build a more connected, inclusive, and sustainable future.
