Within this financial year, the organisation’s key activities included initiating research in collaboration with a British university to explore the lived experiences of disabled people working within the football industry. This research will inform the DFC’s approach and provide valuable insights for industry stakeholders. In addition, the Disability Football Collective (DFC) created a unique opportunity for an elite para-footballer to participate in an industry-leading, football-focused course designed to build the skills and knowledge required to support players in professional football. Collectively, this work supports our mission to increase the representation of disabled people within the football industry.
The DFC has continued to engage in informal consultation with organisations and individuals across the football industry. A central part of this work was a research project that directly involved disabled people with lived experience of working in the industry, ensuring their voices and perspectives are heard and valued.
