Additional information
Annual accounts for the Institute of Science & Technology (IST) include figures not only for core IST activities (membership and/or professional services) but also monies received on behalf of the UK Science Council in respect of professional registration fees associated with IST members who are also professionally registered with the Science Council. These fees are passed over to the Science Council on an annual basis, so are in effect pass-though revenues. Activities associated with IST core activities remain below the VAT threshold but the organisation is VAT exemption eligible body within the scope of the VAT (Education) Order 1994. Figures quoted within the Balance Sheet include an amount of £8124 which is listed within liabilities and this figure includes fees received on behalf of the Science Council that must be passed onto that organisation during 2025
