Company Number: 06435312 (England and Wales) Year Ending: 29 December 2024 Company activities and impact In 2024, The Boileroom (Guildford) CIC marked 18 years as a community-rooted music and arts venue. Our core mission remained clear: to provide diverse, inclusive and forward-thinking programming while fostering creativity, community and wellbeing. This milestone year celebrated not only our legacy but our future, with a renewed emphasis on: . Championing emerging talent, . Nurturing creative learning and access, and providing a safe and inclusive space for all. . New House Art Space continued to thrive as a hub for artists and community members, offering studios, exhibitions, and events designed to inspire creativity and bring people together. The synergy between New House and The Boileroom ensured a vibrant year of cultural activity across Guildford. Our Vision and Purpose The Boileroom (Guildford) CIC remains committed to: . Supporting vibrant, community-led initiatives that promote cultural enrichment and artistic expression. . Championing inclusivity, accessibility, and wellbeing through creative mediums .Developing projects and events that encourage learning, belonging, and participation, creating opportunities for the community to connect, learn, and grow. Highlights of 2024 New House Art Space Exhibitions New House Art Space hosted a strong programme of exhibitions, including: . “Accelerating Her Story: Prints that Empower” – An exhibition foregrounding women printmakers whose work challenges perspectives and amplifies female narratives. . Community Open Studios – Welcoming the public into 20 creative studios to meet artists, explore processes and purchase works directly. . Emerging Artist Residency Showcase – Providing platforms for new talent from local colleges and universities to present work professionally. The Boileroom Community Events Across the year The Boileroom hosted a wide range of community initiatives, including: .18th Birthday Celebrations – A month of events across September highlighting our history and future, from headline shows to archive retrospectives of Always The Sun Festival. . Soundcheck Sessions – Industry education workshops giving young people insight into live music production, touring and stagecraft. . Student Engagement – Partnerships with ACM, UCA, University of Surrey, Farnham and Woking colleges delivering Freshers’ residencies, quizzes, showcases and live supports. .Charity Fundraisers – Including events supporting Medical Aid for Palestinians and other grassroots causes. .Creative Wellbeing Programmes – Drink & Draw sessions, Queer safe space events, and Big Leaf Foundation collaborations providing inclusive, accessible creative outlets. Event Reach In 2024, between The Boileroom and New House Art Space, we hosted: . Over 230 live music events . Over 185 community and cultural events The majority were donation-based or free to the service user, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all members of our community. Consultation with stakeholders We continued to collaborate with a wide range of partners and stakeholders including: Plastic Free Guildford Big Leaf Foundation Pride in Surrey Blossom LGBT+ Social Enterprise Zero Carbon Guildford Experience Guildford Oakleaf Koja Project Surrey Cultural Partnership Independent Venue Week and Independent Venue Community Attitude Is Everything – Next Stage working group Local educators: ACM, UCA, University of Surrey, Farnham College, Woking College These collaborations enabled us to extend our reach, diversify our programming, and build meaningful opportunities for local and regional communities.
