Hong Kong Nursing Association UK (HKNAUK) was established in March 2021 by a group of Hong Kong nurses living and working in the UK. The purpose of HKNAUK is to connect nurses from Hong Kong who are currently working in the UK or planning to relocate in the near future, and to provide them with pastoral care. In addition, we aim to promote public health and offer advice to Hongkongers seeking assistance from the NHS or other healthcare services in the UK. During the financial year 2024–2025, our activities have benefited the community in the following ways: We continue to provide healthcare-related information through our YouTube channel. Topics include: How to register with a GP How to deal with hay fever How to become a nurse, doctor, or allied health professional in the UK How to access the NHS 111 online service How to measure blood pressure correctly An introduction to NHS services for the public We have conducted monthly health promotion stalls across the UK, offering free services to the public, including: Blood pressure measurement Blood glucose measurement Body weight and body fat ratio measurement General health advice We maintain close communication with our members through various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Our role includes providing advice and addressing their concerns related to licensing, employment, and social issues in collaboration with relevant organisations.
Our stakeholders include Hong Kong nurses, Hongkongers living in the UK, the NHS, the NMC, and our committee members. We hold regular committee meetings and maintain a WhatsApp group to stay connected. These platforms are used to discuss issues, solve problems, and make plans. We use various communication channels including email, our Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube channel to share educational content and exchange messages with the community. At our monthly health promotion stalls, we provide basic health consultations and respond to simple health enquiries for Hongkongers living in the UK.
