Company activities and impact

The Lone Stroyberg Scholarship was established in 2015 in memory of Lone Stroyberg, the first Managing Director of the Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce (now the Danish-UK Association – see below). Lone died tragically young of ovarian cancer. With her ability, charm, humour and hard work ethic, she was critical to its success in its early years. We honour her through this scholarship. The aim of the scholarship is to provide vital knowledge, experience and a unique high-level network to young entrepreneurial Danes who can support the commercial relationship between Denmark and the UK. The opportunity will encourage internationally minded candidates to experience working in the UK for 1 year. The scholarship will fund young Danes to undertake internships at the Danish-UK Association, as well as with the Association’s corporate members in the UK. The Association provides top level contacts of both nationalities vital for the future. They will also benefit from a strong Young Professional group and the cultural and social activities organised by the Association. In the future we are also looking to develop similar scholarships in Denmark for UK students. This is a unique opportunity for carefully selected young people with high potential to get a world-class network through the Association and its members, on which to build their own professional careers, and to benefit the commercial relationship between Denmark and the UK. The scholars will leave with a strong network, experience and an understanding of Danish/UK relations to enable them to navigate their future in this commercial environment.
