Provided access (nationally and locally) to an affordable resource for health and holistic wellbeing. Provided an education (specifically to local communities) encompassing identification, cultivation, learning about and application of plant medicines for general promotion of health and wellbeing, and promoted environmental awareness and reverence for the natural world. Maintained an accessible physic garden and continued to grow medicinal plants, utilising them as a teaching resource and as raw material for medicine making.
The external stakeholders are our clients, volunteers, students, suppliers and local Frome based community groups. We work closely on a one to one basis with all clients seeking health advice and treatment. After being allocated/choosing a herbalist to work with we start by taking a full and confidential case history. Regular monthly/bi/trimonthly consultations are then scheduled in to discuss and monitor their personal health and progress. All treatments and medication is tailored to each individuals need and budgets. We invite input and feedback from our volunteers and students at the close of each volunteer/training session using a simple anonymous paper feedback form. We work to maintain good connections with various local community groups, attending local community networking events, to ensure we offer courses tailored to local need and demand.
