COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

NAYI ZINDAGI COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 13808098 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 December 2024

Company activities and impact

Bring people together and building strong relationships in and across communities in Rotherham. We have been providing respite sessions for members with physical and learning disabilities; offering a two-hour weekly session in our hub. Our community have asked us to increase this initiative; providing support within their homes too for when they must attend religious or life ceremonies. Attending gatherings are culturally important and alleviate feelings of isolation. Loneliness can lead to a decreased sense of self-worth and feelings of community rejection, resulting in low moods and/or depression. Respite is good for wellbeing; attending self-help or their own medical appointments. We have been asked to provide help with cooking; cleaning and organising rooms for visitors; without families feeling ashamed to have others in their homes which aren’t to usual hygiene standards. We have been asked for assistance completing official government forms/to help them understand and be more organised with benefits/medical appointments; cancelling those no longer required. Taking part in council and NHS research for people with disabilities and mental heath issues, attending workshops and also promoting out work we do in the local community.

Consultation with stakeholders

We have had consultation with NHS, Local Council, local group in Rotherham and a charity in Chesterfield named Home Care Direct - this was about improving services for people from the south Asian communities with learning disabilities and mental health issues, raising awareness about Cancer and most recently looking at complex care for people from ethnic communities.

Directors' remuneration

One director received remuneration of £3,578 in the year. No other directors received remuneration. No pensions, benefits in kind, or compensation for loss of office were paid.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
