These were available for anybody to attend. - Institutional training courses with Yale University, the University of Birmingham, the Technological University of the Shannon, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Birmingham University, and The Lloyds Bank Foundation in the Channel Islands. - Projects include: - Working in Scotland with Stirling University to assess the impact of a homeless shelter providing controlled access to alcohol - Working in London with the Henry Smith Charity and Breadwinners to understand the impact of funding for programmes supporting refugees and asylum seekers in employment skills - Working in Wales with Leonard Cheshire Disability to help provide new tools of advocacy and communication for disabled people PhotoVoice also published new methodological papers and website content throughout the year, providing wider support and advice for institutions and individuals wishing to use participatory photography methodologies. Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders are - practitioners of participatory photography methods and approaches - institutions and organisations which seek to use participatory photography for community engagement - community members who are underrepresented and/or issue affected and attend workshops As PhotoVoice works on an array of self-contained activities and projects, consultation and response to feedback has been undertaken in advance of and upon completion of each discreet activity. More details are provided below: Online and In-Person Training Courses Prior to both online and in-person training courses, online surveys are undertaken with those attending to understand their specific needs and expectations from the course. The course is then tailored to meet these expectations. Post training feedback has been collated after each course, and course materials have been amended as a result, with the following outcomes: - Many respondents have expressed desire for new training materials, many of which have been developed and incorporated into the training course. More are planned for 2025. - Respondents have expressed a continuing desire to deliver in-person training courses (rather than solely online), which has been factored into future activities. Institutional Training Courses Prior to institutional training courses, all attendees complete an online survey to ensure that the course meets their needs. As this can change from institution to institution, the results are used to tailor the curriculum to the specific requirements of the commissioning organisation. Adaptations have included: - Specific modules on community engagement principles for Yale University, looking at the impact of public consultation for health researchers - Specific modules on analysis of research findings for the University of Birmingham - Specific modules on ethical approval for research projects for the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. These modules have now been incorporated into PhotoVoice’s training curricula, making them available for future activities. Projects A range of consultation and evaluation activities were incorporated into the design and delivery of projects, including online survey, video call, and face-to-face meetings. As stakeholders on these activities involved both project participants and project partners, approaches differed from project to project, and include: - Online and in-person meetings with researchers at the University of Stirling, and staff at the Managed Alcohol Programme in Glasgow to ensure that workshops would complement existing activities, and were scheduled in line with existing service provision. Pre-engagement in-person surveys with residents to factor in their specific needs when delivering workshops. - Online and in-person meetings with staff at the Henry Smith Charity and Breadwinners to design and deliver the workshops and outputs, based on participant needs. Paper surveys with participants to amend the content of the workshops. - Online meetings with staff at Leonard Cheshire Disability, to help design the workshops. Pre-engagement activities with participants to help tailor the activities. As a result of all of these, the CIC has: - Developed new training materials and resources - Updated its available portfolio of workshop activities - Improved its online content and information We have also started to publish collated evaluation material from our training courses, available at: https://photovoice.org/trainingevaluations/
