Over the last year BEAMA has secured funding from various sopurces to deliver creative digital programmes to local community groups as well as generating income via programmes the organisation has been brought in to deliver and oprganised. 2 funded programmes for vulnerable and at risk young people took place for groups between the age 7-25 years old. These programmes worked with over 100 young people affected by mental health issues and with additional needs/disabilities. In addition we secured 22.5K of funding from Northern Ireland Screen to deliver creative programmes to 180 young people 7-17years old across Northern Ireland as well as in the Republic of Ireland. This year funding increased significantly due to the range of funded income as well as generating 28.8K income which helped cover core running costs. Generated income included delivery to 110 young people and adults with aditional needs. Profits generated fromincome generation were u sed to cover overheads in our premises which allows us to deliver on site services for vulnerable young people both on a one to one basis or group basis. BEAMA activities have benefited the community in the following ways: provision of activities in areas and to user groups where services are severely stretched or non existent; provision of activities that use multimedia as a tool to help build young peoples confidence and self esteem; provision of activities to teach young people new digital skills and sign post on to other opportunities, and provision of activities that bring people together from different cultural backgrounds.
BEAMA stakeholders would include community group leaders, young people from disadvantaged backrounds, young people in care, young people affected by mental health issues and young people with disabilities. Over the last year we have collected questionnaires from all young people who have participated in BEAMA activities. We also collected written questionnaires from community leaders working in the sectors with our target groups. The feedback from those young people and community leaders has helped shape initiatives and funding proposals for the coming year.
