The activities of Reeshe Persian School have significantly benefited the community by providing a vital space for Persian-speaking families to connect, maintain their cultural identity, and pass on their heritage to younger generations. By offering accessible language education, we have supported bilingual development in children, enhancing their communication skills and deepening their understanding of Persian culture. Our community events, like the Nowruz celebration, have fostered social cohesion by bringing together families from diverse backgrounds who share a common cultural interest, strengthening relationships and creating a supportive network for Persian-speaking families. Additionally, the expansion of our library has created a resource that encourages lifelong learning, allowing families to engage with Persian literature and culture in their homes. This has empowered parents to take an active role in their children's education and cultural upbringing, further enhancing the community's connection to its heritage. Through our efforts, we have helped preserve and promote Persian language and culture, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among community members.
Our primary stakeholders are families in and around Cambridgeshire who identify Persian as their heritage language. This includes children with one or both parents who speak Persian, as well as children whose grandparents are Persian speakers. Our school plays a key role in helping these families preserve and pass down their heritage language and culture to future generations.
