The company was established in January 2022 in response to a threat of the loss of the Alliance Public House 40-42 Mill Lane NW6 INR, which has an ACV registration. It was intended to facilitate the purchase of the existing lease or freehold using the rights un-der ACV legislation. Shortly after the formation of this CIC, the lease of the Alliance was assigned to another existing pub company which ensured its continuation of use as a public house. As a result, the use of the ACV to assist an acquisition was invalidated and the urgency and necessity of attempting a purchase of the lease or freehold were greatly diminished. The directors decided to wait and see how the existing tenure would operate and it now appears that the future existence of the pub is more secure. However, it seems prudent to retain the CIC in dormancy in case the situation changes.
