Company activities and impact

A small group of members performed a Mummers' Play at a Wassail event organised by Weardale Together in January 2025. There were no costs to Drama in the Dale CIC for this event as funding was arranged by Weard,;ile Together. For this Mummers' Play a writer was engaged to make a version for our area which can then be reused for future years. Plans to repeat this are underway for 2026. Drama in the Dale CIC have worked with a local writing group to develop a script based on an event which took place in the area, a miners' strike. Members of Drama in the Dale performed a couple of short extracts at the Weardale Wordfest in October 2024 with live music from one of our members. Plans are to develop the play for a complete performance in 2026 Committee meetings continued to take place.

Consultation with stakeholders

Stakeholders: Members: consulted mainly by email. Kept upto date via mailchimp and Whats App regarding progress of funding applications and future events. Wider public: Using facebook as an advertising platform for our group the general public were kept up to date with funding applications and further events. Action:Members were active in rehearsals and performances, both on and off stage, for the Wassail event. Members took part, both on and off stage, in the performance of extracts of a new play at the Wordfest.

Directors' remuneration

Included in subcontractors' fees is £400 paid to H A Coleman, director and £689 paid to E Gill, also a director.
