A small group of members performed a Mummers' Play at a Wassail event organised by Weardale Together in January 2025. There were no costs to Drama in the Dale CIC for this event as funding was arranged by Weard,;ile Together. For this Mummers' Play a writer was engaged to make a version for our area which can then be reused for future years. Plans to repeat this are underway for 2026. Drama in the Dale CIC have worked with a local writing group to develop a script based on an event which took place in the area, a miners' strike. Members of Drama in the Dale performed a couple of short extracts at the Weardale Wordfest in October 2024 with live music from one of our members. Plans are to develop the play for a complete performance in 2026 Committee meetings continued to take place.
