  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, net of discounts. Turnover included revenue from grants receivable and released, the sale of goods and from the rendering of services. Grants receivable and released are recognised net of any deferred income. Turnover from the sale of goods is recognised when the significant risks and rewards of ownership of the goods have transferred to the buyer.

Company activities and impact

We have been delivering our Bake and Banter project which sees us running monthly workshops for veterans using food as a therapy while teaching essential cooking skills. We have expanded our reach to higher in Devon and deeper into Cornwall as there was a demand for our services. This project not only benefits the veteran’s themselves, but also their families. They provide a safe and welcoming space, where new friendships and connections are made during the activities.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are veterans and their families, as well as those within the communities we work in, including staff within the organisations with whom we work. We tailor each event, workshop or activity after discussions with the beneficiary group to ensure that we meet our project outcomes.
