PART 1 - GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY’S ACTIVITIES AND IMPACT The company was established at the beginning of January 2018. During the period covered by this report, in return for a modest annual subscription fee, the company has made available its ‘Via’ web application and provided technical/user support to users of its service. Two additional schemes started using the service during the period covered by this report and it is now used by six Community Car Schemes across Cambridgeshire as well as schemes and charities in Bedfordshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Norfolk, Shropshire, Ayrshire and Gwynedd. During the period covered by this report, the number of journeys delivered using our service increased by 17% to nearly 7,750 and the distance driven by volunteers increased by nearly 24% to over 138,000 miles. These journeys enabled residents in their communities to attend essential medical appointments, to shop and, in many areas, to engage in much needed social activities. Overall, by the end of January 2025, we estimate that nearly 370 volunteer drivers and over 3,600 passengers were involved in transport schemes using our service. We have continued to carefully manage our expenditure to ensure that we can continue to operate and deliver our service over the longer term. In the period covered by this report, we generated a small surplus between income and expenditure, which will be used to continue repaying the loans made to finance the start-up and early years of the company’s operations.
Our stakeholders are the administrators and coordinators of Community Car Schemes that already use our application and others that are potential users. Existing users have the ability to provide feedback and request support within the application and we have received and responded to a number of these communications. During the year, we migrated from our local servers to new cloud-based infrastructure which whilst more expensive, will significantly improve reliability, resilience and scaleability of the service. We have also continued to work on the development of a new features for the application, including the development of a duty rota which we believe will be of benefit to many schemes and which we hope to release during the 25/26 Financial Year.
No remuneration was received
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
