Family and Therapy CIC provides specialised therapy for children and young people and Adults, addressing their emotional, behavioural, and mental health needs in a safe, therapeutic environment. Our approach is family-centred, involving both the child and their family in the therapeutic process to promote long-term healing and resilience. We have qualified Play therapy therapists who work with children between the ages of 3 and 10 alongside our dedicated qualified young person therapists who work with the young people. We also have a team of specialised adult therapist who work with anyone 18 or over referred into our services and supported by a number of Psychotherapy students, offering both individual and group sessions. We have also established a counselling and psychotherapy service for parents, offering them the opportunity to access psychological support alongside their child’s therapy. This service allows parents to process and make sense of their own childhood experiences, trauma, and attachment histories, which may be affecting their ability to understand and connect with their children. Many of the parents we support struggle with low self-confidence and self-worth, often doubting their ability to be “good enough” parents. This is a vital and sensitive area of work, helping parents build the confidence and emotional capacity to support their children more effectively.
Our stakeholders include clients (individuals and families accessing our services), local authorities, educational institutions, fostering agencies, healthcare providers, community organisations, and our internal staff team. We actively engage with stakeholders to ensure our services meet their needs and expectations. The following consultation methods have been undertaken 1. Clients and Familics: Regular feedback qucstionnaires following therapy sessions to mcasure satisfaction and outcomes. Informal conversations with clients and families to understand their evolving needs. 2. Local Authorities and Agencies: Scheduled meetings and collaborative reviews to ensure regulatory compliance and address local community needs. Data sharing (appropriately anonymised) to track progress and evaluate impact. 3. Educational Institutions: Partnership with schools to address pupils' emotional and behavioural challenges. Workshops delivered to teaching staff to support children's mental health and wellbeing. 4. Internal Staff: Regular team meetings and supervision sessions to gather insights on service delivery and identify areas for improvement. Anonymous staff surveys to assess workplace satisfaction and support requirements.
