Notes to the Financial Statements
1. General Information
Halfloop Limited is a private company, limited by shares, incorporated in England & Wales, registered number 14019217 . The registered office is Arquen House, 4-6 Spicer Street, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England, AL3 4PQ.
2. Accounting Policies
2.1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 section 1A Small Entities "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Companies Act 2006.
2.2. Going Concern Disclosure
The directors believe that the going concern basis is not appropriate as the company has no realistic alternative but to cease trading and go into liquidation. The liquidation process is to begin post-accounting period.
2.3. Intangible Fixed Assets and Amortisation - Other Intangible
Intangible assets are development costs. Following an impairment review, the company has confirmed there is no recoverable amount as at 30 April 2025. Hence, the total balance has been written off as an impairment loss to the profit and loss account.
2.4. Tangible Fixed Assets and Depreciation
Tangible fixed assets under the cost model are stated at historical cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Historical cost includes expenditure that is directly attributable to bringing the asset to the location and condition necessary for it to be capable of operating in the manner intended by management.
At each reporting date the company assesses whether there is any indication of impairment. If such indication exists, the recoverable amount of the asset is determined which is the higher of its fair value less costs to sell and its value in use. An impairment loss is recognised where the carrying amount exceeds the recoverable amount.
Depreciation is provided on the following basis:
Computer Equipment 25% Depreciation on Straight Line Basis
The assets' residual values, useful lives and depreciation methods are reviewed, and adjusted prospectively if appropriate, or if there is an indication of a significant change since the last reporting date.
Gains and losses on disposals are determined by comparing the proceeds with the carrying amount and are recognised in the statement of comprehensive income.
2.5. Foreign Currencies
Monetary assets and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rates of exchange ruling at the balance sheet date. Transactions in foreign currencies are translated into sterling at the rate ruling on the date of the transaction. Exchange differences are taken into account in arriving at the operating profit.
2.6. Taxation
Income tax expense represents the sum of the tax currently payable.
The tax currently payable is based on taxable profit for the year. Taxable profit differs from profit as reported in the statement of comprehensive income because of items of income or expense that are taxable or deductible in other years and items that are never taxable or deductible. The company's liability for current tax is calculated using tax rates that have been enacted or substantively enacted by the end of the reporting period.
2.7. Pensions
The company operates a defined contribution plan for its employees. A defined contribution plan is a pension plan under which the company pays fixed contributions into a separate entity. Once the contributions have been paid the company has no further payment obligations.
The contributions are recognised as an expense in the profit and loss account when they fall due. At the reporting date, no amount remained payable and the scheme liability had been paid in full. The assets of the plan are held separately from the company in independently administered funds.
3. Average Number of Employees
Average number of employees, including directors, during the year was: 4 (2024: 4)
