This year, we focused on strengthening our reach and building new connections. Our tour included both London and rural areas such as Cornwall, the Black Country, Manchester, Yorkshire, and Sussex. We delivered and facilitated workshops with organisations including the Eden Project, Manchester Royal Exchange, Somerset House, Hull Libraries, Tate Britain, the V&A in Kensington, and many schools and libraries across the UK. Our show was well received, and the new connections we made have led to lasting relationships. Rural touring proved especially valuable, allowing us to connect with new partners and share African Caribbean culture in places that rarely experience it. In these traditionally hard-to-reach arts areas, our activities were warmly welcomed, and we have been invited to return to many communities.
Widening our reach has equipped us with a broader perspective. We have discovered just how timely and necessary our work is. The organisations mentioned previously have been extremely supportive, and their collaboration has been invaluable in tailoring our work to the needs of our audience. Through conversations and discussion, we have learned a great deal and are eager to continue expanding and training young people from our borough. These collaborations have equipped us and taught us about the needs of communities today, whether rural or urban. We work with families and young people and reaching outside London has been extremely enriching.
Remuneration of £4,614 was paid to Caroline Ada for work relating to the CIC project delivery.
