Marchbanks Measurement Systems Ltd has developed unique medical equipment for noninvasive cerebral (brain) and cochlear fluid pressure measurements. The company successfully acquired funding from InnovateUK, and this has supported the design and development of the next-generation MMS-15 Analyser. The funding has also enabled clinical evaluations and collection of normative data by Southampton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. A UK Patent was granted for the MMS-15 design.

The company continues to support NASA in the deployment and use of the previous generation MMS-14F Analyser on the International Space Station (ISS). This space science research has led to a deeper understanding of the physiologicalchallenges faced by humans in the space environment, with a focus on long-duration missions to the Moon and Mars.

The company is continuing to focus on establishing a clinical trial at University Hospital Southampton for screening Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, a potentially curable form of dementia and a clinical trial with GPs in Primary Healthcare to investigate the prevalence of raised brain pressures. We are also actively seeking an established medical device company to provide international marketing and sales of our new-generation MMS-15 Analyser. 

At the time of approving the financial statements, the directors have a reasonable expectation that the company has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future and will continue to support the company through their directors loan account. Thus the directors continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.

For the year ended 31 January 2025 the company was entitled to exemption from audit under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 with respect to accounting records and the preparation of financial statements.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the year in question in accordance with section 476.

These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the micro-entity provisions and in accordance with FRS 105 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable to the Micro-entities Regime' and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors of the company have elected not to include a copy of the profit and loss account within the financial statements.true
