During this period the company has been financially dormant. In August / Sept 2024 one of the directors sadly passed away and the other retired. The existing bank account of the company was closed down, and remaining monies donated to Gaia House – Registered Charity, number 900339. A NHS GP took over Mindfulness Cornwall CIC as a Director and person of significant control and other Directors were recruited to support the company moving forwards. Each of the new directors paid into the company new bank account to provide some funds for new website creation, ongoing domain name registration and hall hires. The objectives of the company remain to reduce stress and promote general well-being through the evidenced based Mindfulness based courses. We have continued to offer support in terms of ongoing groups in various locations across Cornwall in person and online. We aim to apply for funding to support our objectives in the new year. Our aim continues to make accessible Mindfulness based Stress Reduction courses to people from all sectors of society and suffering from conditions such as, but not limited to: Stress, anxiety and panic, low mood and depression, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, eating disorders, cancer, fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, sleep disorder and headaches.
We continue to discuss the details of the need with those in the community, the statutory, non-statutory and voluntary sectors who can benefit from a mindfulness service in Cornwall, and so shape our proposal and offering. To support this we have sent emails to the 299 people on the mailing list and offered drop in sessions and day retreats to discuss how the company will continue to support those who have already taken courses with us. We have also reached out to Mindfulness teachers in Cornwall to ask them to be part of our company's programme. We held a half day for Mindfulness teachers in Cornwall as part of this and 5 teachers attended.
No remuneration was received
There was transfer of the remaining funds in the bank account in September 2024 (£826) to a similarly minded Charity - Gaia House Charity Number 900339 when the bank account was closed and the previous directors stepped down. A new bank account was set up in November 2024 and at year end 31/12/25 the current balance was £0:00
