MYCO MANCHESTER COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Directors' report period ended 30 June 2025

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 30 June 2025

Principal activities of the company

We continue to deliver a range of educational workshops and events which are open to members of the local community for free. These events teach community members how to grow mushrooms, identify wild plants and fungi and connect with the natural environment. Over the last financial year we have expanded our programme by reaching out to existing community growing groups and offering them training and assistance in incorporating fungi growing in their practices. This helps ensure better soil health, biodiversity, and a wider growing season for projects like these. In addition we have offered wormery building training for schools and community organisations. We have begun a project of Fungal biodiversity conservation through log cultures and education. We have offered a programme of free mushroom and botany walks for LGBTQ+ people in the community.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our principal stakeholders are volunteers and workshop participants who attend our events, workshops and volunteering opportunities. After every event, we provide a link to an anonymous feedback form. We ask for feedback on the accessibility of the session and the relevance of the content covered to the stakeholders. We make it clear that we warmly welcome constructive feedback in order to encourage this kind of engagement.Whilst this feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, we have taken into consideration suggestions made over the year to expand our offering in terms of the courses we provide. We also held a community consultation event in August where we offered opportunities for feedback in verbal and written form. From that we learnt that many of our stakeholders want opportunities to work with and join the organisation in order to expand its offering and reach.

Directors' remuneration

The directors were paid a total of £7,610.97 over this financial year. This is included under administrative expenses in the accounts. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director's loss of office, which require to be disclosed.

Transfer of assets

No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
