We developed a program of events running throughout the year 2024 open to the community aiming to educate, nurture and empower the attendees particularly around Steiner’s philosophy. The program started with a parenting course in January 2024 which spanned the previous accounting year and this, as well as a Movement Workshop for parents. We also hosted a range of family events based around festivals traditionally marked by Steiner Waldorf communities (ie St Johns, Michaelmas) in partnership with the Menagerie Glade, a biodynamic garden and woodland space sharing the same interest in anthroposophy. These sessions support community education and awareness of Steiner Waldorf education, and provide some fundraising opportunity to subsidise the educational offer and keep costs to families down. We also offered a Steiner/Waldorf-inspired educational program to home-educating families and their 14-16 year olds in September/October 2023 and have provided a small number of 1-2-1 sessions for potential users of our offer.
