During the reporting period, BSIS taught 99 students aged 5 to 15 across six age-based classes, providing structured lessons in Islamic Studies, Qur’an, and Arabic Language. Classes were held every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. in a hired school building, offering a safe and engaging learning environment. Alongside lessons, children benefited from a 30-minute play session, helping them develop social confidence and faith-based grounding. BSIS also provided a platform for parents to volunteer, strengthening community ties and support networks. Each teaching day concluded with a school assembly, where students performed Zuhr Salah together, received the popular “Muslim of the Week” badges, and took part in a Tidiness Competition, celebrating the class that best organised their bags, shoes, and coats. Through these activities, BSIS has continued to promote education, confidence, and community spirit among young people and their families.
BSIS actively involves its parent community in the running and development of the organisation. Helpers, volunteers, and teachers are appointed from among the parents, ensuring that the community remains directly engaged in the delivery of our services. In addition, three parent governors are appointed from willing parents to contribute to decision-making, policy development, and communication with other parents. They also assist with day-to-day operations, giving them valuable insight into the school’s activities and enabling them to represent the wider parent body effectively. This collaborative approach ensures that BSIS remains responsive to the needs and feedback of its key stakeholders - the students, parents, and community it serves.
