The CIC operates online and at UK Race Tracks, increasing awareness of Mental Health issues and raising funds to provide free Mental Health First Aid Training to Marshals, photographers, racers, mechanics and staff at UK Motorsport events. The CIC commenced work in January 2024. During the financial year 2024-2025, the CIC's activities have benefited the community in the following ways: - Provided Mental Health First Aid Training courses to 40 members of the community for free. - Booked a further 20 Mental Health First Aid Training Courses to be made available for Motorsport Marshals. - Provided awareness, teaching and a platform for open conversation at 6 events at race circuits including a specific TrackWalk and Talk event at Oulton Park attended by 200 people. - Held an online virtual 6-hour Sim race which was live streamed, to raise awareness of the cause and raise funds for a Marshal Mental Health First Aid Training 'drive'. - Sponsored an online Discord motorsport community to provide them with two Mental Health First Aid trained moderators to support the welfare of their members.
The CIC's stakeholders are Driven Minds Ambassadors, and Marshals, Photographers, Mechanics, Managers, Clerks, Officials and Racers within the motorsport community. The directors of the company have worked and raced in The Motorsport Community for a number 15+ years and developed the idea of helping community members with their mental health after speaking with members of the community and realizing how many people could benefit from Mental Health support. We provide an avenue for continuous conversation and feedback through our 20+ ambassadors who each work and operate in different areas within motorsport and are able to comment on where we could help more within their specific field to help people in that area.
