  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Financial Reporting Standard 101

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Plant and machinery are stated at cost less accumulated depreciation and any accumulated impairment losses. Depreciation is provided to write off the cost of each asset over its estimated useful life using the reducing balance method at a rate of 25% per annum. The depreciation rate and method are reviewed annually to ensure they reflect the asset’s current expected useful life and residual value.

Company activities and impact

Boxpower Amateur Boxing Club is a community boxing club which holds various sessions for all abilities and levels which gives inclusivity to all, the activities in the gym have benefited the community in the following ways. Residents from the local and wider areas have found a safe space within the gym. The gym has provided volunteers to come on board where they have been given the skills and knowledge to take out into their jobs or family life as we have provided 1st aid training, safeguarding courses and England boxing qualification, communication skills and much more. The gym has been liaising with the local community police and introducing them with the gym goers and their parents by holding drop ins and chats. We have built up a strong group of members from all cultural backgrounds and learnt a lot about each other’s cultures.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company's stakeholders are the members, parents and volunteers. We have regular conversations with all involved in the community club and we ask all to give feedback from sessions and if there are any tools we can use within the club for education purposes. We keep all involved in where we are as a club and encourage everyone to contribute any ideas that could help the business as a whole.
