The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2025

Principal activities of the company

The company is a trading subsidiary of Royal Trinity Hospice, a registered charity whose principal activity is the provision of care to the terminally ill. Goods are donated to Royal Trinity Hospice for conversion into cash through charity shops operated by the company acting as agent for the charity. The proceeds from the sale of donated goods are paid weekly into a bank account belonging to the charity. For this service the company charges an agency fee equal to the expenses incurred in selling the goods on behalf of the charity. In addition, the company conducts the trading activity of selling Christmas cards, wool and other bought in goods as well as consultancy services to support other organisations with their retail operations. The income from these activities is donated to the charity under the Gift Aid Scheme.

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is recognised at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for goods and services provided in the normal course of business, and is shown net of VAT and other sales related taxes. The fair value of consideration takes into account trade discounts, settlement discounts and volume rebates.
