Directors' report period ended 31 December 2024

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 December 2024

Principal activities of the company

As part of its mission to support minorities and foster an inclusive educational and cultural environment, the Kush Community CIC in Liverpool organized a diverse range of activities throughout 2024. These events aimed at empowering individuals, strengthen community bonds, and highlight the voices of women, youth, and ethnic minorities. We started a supplementary school, to help children connect with their roots. This was important for preserving our cultural identity, especially for the younger generation growing up in the UK. Through community classes, activities, and gatherings, we created a safe and supportive space where families came together, children could learn about their heritage, and a strong, connected community growth in Liverpool. We taught the Arabic language to children. We offered this language at GCSE level where our students sat the examinations during the reporting period. As a school, we had 100% pass rate. Key Activities included: - International Women’s Day Celebration - Mother’s Day Celebration - Educational Trip to the University of Cambridge - Participation in International Language Day - Cultural and Educational Seminar Series – Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Qurashi - Spotlight on the Novel ‘The Caterpillar Hunter’ by Amir Taj Elsir - Educational Stages in the UK – Lecture by Ms. Saadia Saad Awad - Workshop for A-Level Students Preparing for Medical and Dental Interviews - Seminar on Teenage Challenges- Dr Mohammed Abdul Razzaq - Gift Distribution for Children – Donated by Cash for Kids - Choir and Acting Opportunities for Children and Youth - Art Workshop with Guest Artist The activities organized by the Kush Community during this period demonstrated a strong commitment to inclusion, education, and cultural empowerment. These efforts have had a positive impact on Liverpool’s diverse communities, providing tools for growth, dialogue, and opportunity.
