During the financial year, Tech432 has continued to make a positive impact on underrepresented communities by creating opportunities, building confidence, and improving access to careers in technology. Empowering Young People through Education and Workshops Tech432 delivered several school workshops and community sessions, helping over 250 young people from underrepresented backgrounds learn about careers in technology, digital skills, and personal development. These sessions have built confidence, increased digital literacy, and inspired participants to explore education and employment pathways they previously felt were inaccessible. Supporting Diversity and Inclusion in Tech By partnering with organisations such as Coding Black Females, Stem Babe, Tech Academia, and Hack That Stack, Tech432 has provided visibility and support for Black talent in the tech industry. These partnerships have created networking, mentoring, and employment opportunities for individuals who are often overlooked in the sector. Community Engagement and Positive Role Modelling Tech432 ran empowerment workshops for young Black boys in inner-city London, offering mentorship, discussions on positive identity, and community support. Initiatives such as providing free haircuts for young people have fostered trust, boosted self-esteem, and built stronger community ties. Responding to Community Needs Following the tragic loss of a young person previously mentored by Tech432, the organisation increased its community engagement activities to provide mental health support, mentoring, and safe spaces for youth to connect and share their experiences. Economic and Social Value By equipping young people with relevant tech skills and career insights, Tech432 helps improve employment prospects and reduces inequality within underrepresented groups. These activities contribute to the long-term economic empowerment of participants and help diversify the future workforce.
Consultation with Stakeholders During the financial year, Tech432 actively engaged with a range of stakeholders to ensure that our programmes and initiatives continued to meet the needs of the community we serve. Young People and Participants Regular feedback was collected through post-workshop surveys, focus groups, and informal discussions to understand the impact of our sessions and identify areas for improvement. Young people expressed a desire for more practical workshops on digital skills, mentoring, and career pathways in technology, which informed our planning for future events. Schools and Educational Partners Tech432 maintained close relationships with local schools, teachers, and youth organisations to ensure our workshops aligned with school priorities, timetables, and student needs. Teachers provided valuable input on student engagement, curriculum relevance, and how Tech432’s content supports personal development and employability skills. Industry and Community Partners Consultations were held with partner organisations such as Coding Black Females, Tech Academia, Stem Babe, and Hack That Stack to coordinate joint activities and share best practice. Corporate and industry partners provided insight into emerging tech trends and skills gaps, helping us tailor our content to prepare young people for future careers. Parents and Guardians Informal consultations with parents helped us better understand the barriers to participation, such as transport, confidence, or financial constraints. This feedback led to adjustments in workshop delivery, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all participants. Internal Team and Volunteers Regular team debriefs and reflection sessions ensured that facilitators and volunteers could share learnings from each event and contribute to improving future sessions.
