We started the Meka Programme with a clear mission to empower and support more students and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) within our community. Our goal has always been to create meaningful opportunities for young people to gain experience, develop valuable skills, and successfully transition into the world of work, while also helping local businesses grow through access to enthusiastic, capable talent. Since its launch, the programme has made a significant impact. We have supported students from secondary schools, colleges, and universities by helping them secure placements, internships, and employment opportunities aligned with their chosen fields. To date, we have helped over 90 students gain placements in their specific areas of study, over 80 students find part-time employment, and over 50 students secure full-time positions. Many of these individuals have gone on to build successful careers, gaining confidence and experience that will benefit them for years to come. What makes the Meka Programme truly special is that all of this has been achieved without any government funding. Our success has been driven entirely by strong community partnerships, networking, and collaboration with local businesses. We’ve built these relationships through direct marketing, outreach campaigns, and in-person networking events, creating a bridge between education and employment. Our commitment to supporting young people and small businesses continues to grow. We believe that by investing in people, encouraging collaboration, and strengthening community ties, we can continue to make a lasting difference opening doors, building confidence, and inspiring the next generation of professionals and entrepreneurs.
